Visitors may also visit the Hailey House and Classroom, located at 314 South Second Avenue in Hailey. The museum is open year-round. In addition to its exhibitions, the museum also offers immersive education opportunities. The museum's 50th Anniversary exhibit is currently on display through July. Other upcoming shows at the museum include Twisted Pine and Pink Martini, by Jock Reynolds and Sandra Cisneros. The museum's future plans call for collaboration with other arts organizations to foster more creativity and community engagement. The museum is looking forward to the next 50 years. Its goal is to become a vibrant center of activity that is not constrained to museum space.
A large portion of the museum's annual income comes from the Wine Auction, which is the oldest wine auction in the country. The event raises funds for the Museum's educational outreach programs. It also helps support the Museum's scholarship program. These programs allow local students to enjoy art programs free of charge.
For the past two decades, the Wine Auction has raised over $500,000 for the museum. It is an event that is recognized by Wine Spectator magazine as one of the nation's top charity wine auctions. In addition to the traditional Wine Auction Gala, the museum also hosts a dozen intimate Vintner Dinners at private homes. It also hosts an annual Wine Picnic and Concert. In 2009, the museum added several new events to its annual fundraising calendar. SVMoA is committed to arts education, and has awarded over $1 million in scholarships to local schools. It is the only museum within a 100 mile radius to be accredited by the American Alliance of Museums.
The Museum of Art and Culture offers art classes and workshops for families. For children, the museum has a unique program that combines art and technology. There are free workshops and art classes offered regularly. In addition, visitors can sign up for private art lessons with a professional art teacher. There is also a gift shop, where visitors can purchase artwork or handcrafted items.
